Running Log

5 miles out on the Longleaf Trace
Time: No Idea
Pace: No Idea

OK, so I know it has been like 3 weeks since I have put a run log on here. Trust me I feel terrible about not running in the past few weeks, but I think that it was a well needed break. I have been back in the gym, went snowboarding and even been taking a night class. It's not like I haven't been busy. I felt great on my run today with Terri and Jenny. We ran a slow steady pace and it felt good not to worry about time for once. They will be running the New Orleans Half Marathon this weekend. Jenny will be running as a parasite. I have been thinking about running with a friend of mine that has been training with the "team in training" in New Orleans for this for awhile. Her name is Brittany Taylor. This poor girl decided about 6 months ago that she was going to do the full marathon, and has had nothing but bad luck ever since. She had IT band problems, the swine flu and most recently a car crash that has left her with whiplash. She has decided to run the half (due to obvious reasons), and I think I might join her as a parasite myself. This will be the first run that I am not doing for myself, and I think that I might really enjoy running to support someone else. We may go slow, hell we may even walk a little, but I really want to show my support to her on this run . I still have not decided yet if my legs really want me to do it, but we will see. I also have another friend Jessica Dye that will be running her first half marathon. She has been training really hard and I am really proud of her also! Good luck to all of my girls this weekend. I hope that everyone has a great time!

Also, good luck to Dawn going for yet another full marathon!
Also, good luck to Jennifer.... this is the first full marathon..... is it going to get you a tattoo???
Also, good luck to Kevin one my my old college brothers that is trying to qualify for Boston!
Also, good luck to any and all of you pine belt pacers that are running this weekend!

Brother and Sister

Taylor and James Wamble
02.21.2010

This is Taylor and James Wamble. I had the pleasure of taking their pictures today. James was premature by 4 weeks. He is now a 4 week old beautiful blue eyed boy. These two children were so easy to photograph, and I am sure that their parents are very happy to have them in their lives.

St. Jude Marathon Tattoo... Phase 2

Phase 2
02.19.2010

Well this is the end of phase two. This section is the cover up of the old tattoo. This was about 3.5 hours of pure pain, and I am very glad that we got this out of the way first! It looks really good. I am so pleased with the work that Vic has done on my tattoo. I still have a long way to go, but it is nice to see the progress that is taking place.

Here are some pictures taken from Brittany and Jenny's iphone during the tattoo.

getting the stencil

stencil on and ready for some ink

working on the outline

outline complete, now let's fill that bad boy in.... good bye old tattoo!

3.5 hours later! Not complete, but that is all of the pain that I could stand for tonight!

My first time really snowboarding

Well this was officially my first time ever really snowboarding. I went one time back in 1994 when I was in college at Brevard College in North Carolina. It was nothing like this. I had a great teacher in my bro Eric Bailey. We had a blast. Some of the best snow that has ever been seen in North Carolina. By the end of the week I was hitting jumps, rails and even went down a black diamond 3 or 4 times. AMAZING time! Can't wait for my next snowboarding trip.

South Mississippi Snow Storm

Snow Storm in South Mississippi

Yep, it actually happened. These are pics that I took at about 8:00 this morning. I think there was about two inches of snow on the ground when I took these and the snow is still falling fast. I on the other hand will not be here later today to see just how deep it gets. They say on the news possible 5 to 9 inches. The largest snow in about 100 years. Crazy! I am on my way to Boone, NC to see some serious snow with my buddy Eric. There will be some snowboard pictures up soon.

Conway/Burke Wedding

January 16, 2010

This wedding was so much fun to photograph. Crystal was a beautiful bride. I have done a lot of weddings in my photography days, but this one had a special meaning to me. Crystal was one of my wife's roommates in college. I became pretty close to "my girls" and this special girl found a great guy. This is the first wedding that I actually cried at, well besides my own. Brittany and Jessica, I can't handle all of this wedding stuff too quickly, so don't go getting married too fast. I only cry at weddings once a year! I hope that Crystal and John have a wonderful life together.

Ladies and Gentle men..... Mr and Mrs John Conway.
